I have found that I don’t have to start Jack manually (although I’m pretty certain that I used to?), so to start ardour, just enter ‘ardourvst’ into terminal. start jack with qjackctl and run ardourvst.Enter in terminal (individual lines):Ĭd /home//dls/ardour-2.0.5 Libgtkmm-dev libsndfile-dev wine-dev automake Liblrdf-dev libgnomecanvas2-dev libboost-dev liblo-dev libglib-dev Libasound2-dev qjackctl libxml2-dev libsamplerate-dev libraptor-dev Sudo apt-get install -y scons libtool pkg-config gettext libjack-dev ![]() Install needed tools and build dependencies.Place the entire sdk zip file in ‘/home//dls/ardour-2.0.5/libs/fst’.Download the VST SDK (google vst sdk and look for the link that starts with ygrabit.steinberg….Download source code and untar to ‘/home//dls’.This is my step by step on a fresh Kubuntu 7.04 install (will also work with Ubuntu). ![]()
